Only Half of a Life?

Hey~  I'm new.

I've beaten Orange Box and I loved it!  HL2 has the most awesome storyline I've ever seen.  The suspense and plot turns were incredible.  I've never played HL1, though, so that left me a bit confused.  Waiting for Ep3 and/or HL3.

Hello guys! =D

So, that's my first post here. I made some icons for Half-Life (and Portal). Maybe you like them.

[1-61] Half-Life (HL, HL2, Epi 1, Epi 2)
[62-76] Portal

The rest is here.

Hello all. New poster here, but I've been a fan of the Half-Life series since first play HL1 and Team Fortress Classic way back in 2001.

I come to you with a technical question I'm hoping you may have the answer to, and also because my steam forums account isn't activated yet.

I recently broke down and got Steam, but found out after letting a friend borrow my Half-Life Plastinum pack, that my CD keys were invalid, and that he lost my half life key. Great. So I bought the Anthology from Steam, and downloaded it. One thing was missing though, that's very important, in my opinion: The music.

Turns out I'd still need the CD in the drive to hear music. Bummer. That's the whole reason I went and got the Anthology from Steam instead of buying another Platinum pack. Though I found this page that lets me play the music from OpFor/BlueShift without the CDs, I'm wondering, does anybody know how I could do this with the music to the original Half-Life?

Long stretch, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

So, I just got the Orange Box...

...because I finally got monies, but I have been lax on LJ, so I haven't posted about stuff--my apologies *bad mod*. Now, to talk about Portal.

What I really liked about Portal was that sense of being alone, which is not quite what HL2 offers, what with the resistance and Alyx. Obviously, there's GLaDOS, but not for the later tests, really.

Now, onto other news: an interesting bit of graffiti I found.

Cut for possible spoilersCollapse )

Additionally, for you Facebook folk, I created a group called 1,000,000 Strong Against the Combine. Join! It's just the cool place to be.

1Fort Blog

I'm sure we all remember the great Half-Life-based comic Concerned (and if you don't, read it now). Well, its creator may be rolling out a new TF2-based comic in May, and he's set up a blog about it at 1fort.com.

I made a feed for it: 1fort. (Let's hope this one actually stays working, unlike black_mesa_mod....)

Speaking of Black Mesa, Super Chocolate Bear's epic retelling of the first game, The Black Mesa Incident, will soon be coming to a close as Adrian and Gordon's adventures are wrapped up in their last respective chapters. Who's as excited as me about their upcoming meetings with the G-Man? =D And of course I can't wait for his version of Half-Life 2.

Hello again, darlings.

Hey guys! You know that awesome upcoming mod Black Mesa? Well, I've just created a LiveJournal RSS Feed for it:

Add it to your friends list! Do it now!

Also, has anyone here seen the Freeman's Mind videos? (They're up on machinima.com if you're curious.) I think they're hilarious. =D I love the subversive take on Gordon's character. But I guess no one really knows that he's not... well, watch the videos and find out. =D

EDIT: Seems like the RSS feed's gone. Says Frank, one of the developers: "It has been removed, because it wasn't working properly. Unsure when (or if) it'll be placed back." Aw. :(
